A Weekend
Been out of town lot recently, so it was nice to spend the weekend in Tokyo. The Nezu shrine, about 5 minutes walk from the flat, was having some kind of event with traditional music and snacks.

Lots of people, especially -- but not only -- the younger women, were wearing, kimono. You see that quite often on "fun" occasions. Not so much on working days. I have never seen anyone wearing kimono around Otemachi.
The performers used this big stage. We actually arrived as the taiko group were finishing -- very disappointing!
There was some story here, involving three characters, all played by the same actors as far as I could tell. I have no idea what any of it signified, but the costumes were cool.
Then we headed over to the Skytree. There was some event sponsored by the Norwegian fish industry, where you could get all kinds of salmon dishes.
Having had our fill of salmon, we went across town to Shibuya to catch a gig. In a basement obviously.
They are called Natsudaidai. They were lots of fun. Kind of summery jazzy pop music. My favourite bit was the refrain "Hakodate! It's partay! Hakodate! It's partay!" (Ingrid claims that is not what the lyrics were.)
